Cool Springs Pinkberry lovers rejoice!

The well known frozen yogurt chain is finally opening a location in Cool Springs.

The first full day of business for the Cool Springs Pinkberry is February 18.  We spoke with the new general manager Colleen and she said the night before, February 17, is a soft opening, with free tastings for the general public.

The new Pinkberry in Cool Springs is located at 3065 Mallory Lane, Franklin, TN 37067.  Pinkberry recently entered our market, opening their first Nashville area location at 2306 West End Blvd.

The infamous yogurt retailer is in a retail center next to Chick-Fil-A that includes tenants such as Jason’s Deli, Cricket, Bishop’s Meat & 3 and also one of those “we buy gold” places.  Computers PLUS was formerly located in retail space available for lease now.  Computers PLUS entered the area last year and did not last very long.

Covering the front window of our new Pinkberry in Cool Springs is a sign wrap reading:

Flavours of yogurt carried include Original, Pomegranate, Chocolate, Mango, Coconut, and Green tea.  Fresh fruit is cut daily and seasonal fresh fruit toppings in addition to premium dry toppings are offered.

McEwen Whole Foods Update

Now under construction, the Whole Foods grocery store at McEwen Town Center in Cool Springs is making fast progress.  The new store will be located at the corner of McEwen Drive and Mallory Lane.  Southern Land broke ground a little over three months ago.

We’ve been anxiously waiting ever since the new Whole Foods was announced three years ago.

Footers have been poured and the back cinder block wall is up, seen at left.

The new Whole Foods store in Franklin will be 45,000 square feet.  Whole Foods Market’s current location in Cool Springs is 1735 Galleria Blvd, adjacent to Target, HH Gregg and Toys R US.

The Southern Land Company is developing McEwen Town Center and Whole Foods will be the first retail anchor in the 93 acre Cool Springs mixed-use project.  Despite several delays, bad timing and a horrible economy, the project is still moving forward.

Other tenants that have announced intentions on opening at McEwen Town Center include California Pizza Kitchen, Anthropologie, and Cosmetic Market.  Rumors have abounded regarding a Pinkberry or Red Mango style frozen yogurt concept.

New Whole Foods in Cool Springs

When complete, Southern Land Company’s McEwen Town Center will offer Middle Tennessee 250,000 square feet of retail space, 250,000 square feet of Class A office space, apartments, town homes and an “upscale boutique hotel”.

One finished portion of the McEwen Town Center project is already for sale, that is the “Dwell at McEwen” apartment complex.  The $40 million upscale apartments in Cool Springs are rumored to have registered well over 130 interested buyer parties.

Some area commercial real estate brokers were surprised to hear Michael McNally, vice president of mixed-use development with Southern Land Company, quoted as saying “Dwell is 71% leased” and also “leasing rates haven’t been as brisk as we hoped two years ago, a result of the economy”.

Several of Southern Land Company’s other mixed-use projects in the South include Westhaven Town Center in Franklin, TN as well as The Lofts at Watters Creek and Arthouse Keller, both in Texas.

95 Yr Old Piano Store Closing

Nashville’s ninety five year old Claude P. Street Piano Company, located in on Mallory Lane in Cool Springs, will be closing soon.  They recently lost their lease and have begun a liquidation sale of all piano inventory.

We spoke with Ted Stalets of the Claude P. Street Piano company, located in Franklin TN.  The Cool Springs retail store will be closing soon and discounts up to 70% are available.

The Claude P. Street Piano Company is Nashville’s only authorized Yamaha piano dealer. Artists who exclusively use Yamaha pianos include Elton John, Alicia Keys, Sarah McLachlan, Barry Manilow, John Legend, Paul McCartney, Jason Mraw and James Blunt.

The Claude P. Street Piano Company started back in 1914, right here in Nashville Tennessee.  The Cool Springs Franklin retail store is an authorized piano dealer for Yamaha, Schimmel, and Seiler.

Still being offered is six months interest free financing on select models.  Other financing is available with approved credit.  Local service and warranty coverage are available.  All sales are final and when the inventory is gone, it’s gone forever, so don’t delay.

The last day of business has not been announced, although the employees we spoke with said it could be any day.

It is the exact piano that most of the Yamaha’s well know musicians and celebrity artists play on.  Yamaha has a “Concert & Artists Division”, also located in Franklin, TN.  When a Yamaha signed artist comes to town to play at Schermerhorn Symphony Center, the piano is transported to the venue as needed.
