Amerigo restaurant in Cool Springs

At the Amerigo restaurant in Cool Springs, come in Thursday – Sunday for this week’s Chef and Sommelier pairing! The chef is featuring a Braised Short Rib in a red wine and herb sauce, served with Celery Root and Horseradish Mashed Potatoes.

Enjoy this succulent dish with a glass of Eremo Barbera e Nebbiolo for the perfect combination. This Italian wine is sweet and smooth on the palate, offering flavors of red currant and blackberry with nuances of chocolate and toasted cofee.

Enjoy the Braised Rib and glass of Nebbiolo together for $24, or a la carte: $15 for the Braised Rib; $9 for the wine. Reservations are not necessary, but accepted.

Also, join us for a Ruffino Wine Tasting on Tuesday June 1st from from 6:00-8:00pm.  We will be sampling four varietals sourced from vineyards in the Umbria, Chianti, and Friuli Venezia Giulia regions of Italy. Enjoy our wine tasting and light appetizers for $13 per person; reservations are not necessary.

Sonic Free Coffee Mondays

Sonic Drive-In restaurant on Carothers Pkwy in Cool Springs is offering FREE coffee on Mondays between 6am 0 10am for a limited time.

No catch, its just a good neighbor thing and incentive to come in and have a breakfast sandwich or Fritos chili cheese wrap.  Sonic offers breakfast all day, everyday and their full menu is also available from open to close.

Sonic Drive-In is a well know and popular fast food restaurant chain with over 3,500 locations in forty-five U.S. states.  They are known for the workers delivering food to your car wearing roller skates.

We love the pebble ice Sonic uses and frequently purchase a large cup of it for twenty nine cents.

Please only one free cup of coffee per order and don’t forget to tip!

The Sonic in Cool Springs is located between Beef O’ Brady’s restaurant and Jiffy Lube.

New Vino Tasting
Tuesday, December 1st
6:00 – 8:00pm

Come to the Cool Springs Amerigo restaurant to sample some of our newest additions to our Wine List at our ‘New Vino  Tasting’!  We will be tasting four new wines, along with your choice of one Small Plate, for just $13.50 per person. Reservations are not necessary.

Piper Sonoma Brut
60% Chardonnay, 15% Pinot Noir, 25% Pinot Meunier from Sonoma County. Crisp citrus flavors with a hint of strawberries and vanilla smoke. Dry, fresh, bright with a long finish.

Feudo Arancio Nero d’Avola Stemmari
An indigenous Sicilian variety with a huge reputation. Hints of berries and cranberry with a soft and delicate structure.

Primaterra Sangiovese
100% Sangiovese from the Veneto region. The wine is true to variety with cherry aromas, hints of spice, balanced acidity and a gentle finish.

Avalon Cabernet Sauvignon
86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Syrah, 6% Merlot, 1% Petite Sirah from Napa Valley. Blueberry and plum nuances from the Syrah complement the dark cherry characteristics of the Cabernet Sauvignon.

Adding to our choices of restaurants is John’s Burgers in Cool Springs.  They opened this past Wednesday in Franklin at the Cool Springs Galleria Food Court.  John’s Burgers occupies the space where McDonald’s was previously located. 

I stopped in last night to check it out and ordered a cheeseburger with ketchup, pickle, mustard and lettuce, my signature burger toppings.  It was actually 5 minutes after 9pm when I ordered.  Christina happily took my order, although most of the other businesses in the Food Court had stopped taking orders.

The burger was very tasty and I’ll definitely be back.  I didn’t realize until sitting down to eat that Christina had snuck french fries into my bag even though I didn’t order any.

Chuy’s Gifts For CoolSprings.com!

We were very excited when the mail came today!  The new Chuy’s Tex-Mex restaurant in Cool Springs sent CoolSprings.com a welcome package with several awesome shirts and Chuy’s memorabilia.  A special thanks to Chuy’s and Hilary Ratliff for the special presents.  Hilary is spearheading Chuy’s PR and marketing in Nashville and Middle Tennessee.  We had a question earlier and she got right back to us through the Nashville Chuy’s Facebook fan page.  Needless to say, everyone in Franklin and Brentwood is ecstatic for the opening next week.  The menus Hilary sent have everyone at the CoolSprings.com home office salivating!

Sperry’s Halloween Dinner Sale

Have you given any thought to what you’re doing this Halloween?  For the first time in many years, my parents have decided not to buy the standard $200 worth of candy (that we end up eating most of).  Instead they are going to Sperry’s restaurant in Cool Springs for a nice dinner, enjoying the evening for themselves.

Sperry’s restaurant, with locations in both Cool Springs and Belle Meade, has been a local fine dining institution for many years.  For those of you who haven’t been to either location, the Sperry’s in Cool Springs is an exact replica of the Belle Meade location, right now to the last nail.  It is amazing Sperry’s was able to recreate the original, classic Belle Meade decor at the Cool Springs restaurant, located in a retail strip center.

For the evening of October 31st, Sperry’s is offering HALF OFF all entrees (lobster excluded) at both locations.  Reservations are required and dinner opens at 5:00pm for you early birds.  Remember there is a 20% gratuity added to the total bill.

Boscos Anniversary Specials

Boscos restaurant in Cool Springs is celebrating their anniversary this week with a few great specials.  The Cool Springs Boscos is located in the Boyle Meridian Development off Carothers Blvd at 2000 Meridian Blvd, Franklin TN.  Bosocos is known for hand crafted beers, gourmet pizza, and terrific entrees including double-cut pork chops and salmon baked on a cedar plank.   Boscos brick pizza oven is also finally back in operation.  Everyone knows there was a fire sometime back and now Franklin Codes has finally given their sacred blessing.

Paccini’s Coffee Out of Business

I was just reading a lengthy review posted today on a local Nashville website, gushing praise for Paccini’s coffee in the Meridian Boyle Development on Carothers in Cool Springs. Paccini’s what? Where? Restaurants in this Cool Springs retail center you might have actually heard of include Bosco’s, Noshville, Cajun Steamer’s, Swanky’s Taco Shop and Nucci’s Italian Ice & Gelato.

Funny thing is, Paccini’s went out of business over 6 weeks ago. It wasn’t any shocker. They never advertised, even the free ones like Facebook or Twitter. Its not rocket science. Three times in a row over over several weeks, I went in to eat and they were out of basic things. Like bread or turkey. Bacon every time. The third time the employee said, ” Yeah man its been rough”. The owner was never there and the workers seemed pretty casual. Hey casual is alright, but not so casual the place goes out of business.

I did enjoy the comfortable leather chairs and free wifi. Also it was an independent coffee shop and Cool Springs need more of them, we have enough Starbucks and Dunking Donuts. Paccini’s had a good thing going but they were not consistent with anything. Sucks for us.

I emailed the website contact info even though the site had been taken down. I was asking about the fat leather chairs inside Paccini’s, interested to see if they were for sale. The response was not from Paccini’s but from the web developer saying he had done a great deal of work and was still owed money. He did not know about the furniture. Boyle later said they are holding the furniture and contents, to help entice another coffee shop open their Cool Springs development.

Boyle Development is talking to other well known coffee shops in town hoping to find another operator. The feedback they’ve received so far, has been that the food portion of the business needing to be successful in order to make the numbers work.

I have no doubt another coffee shop will open there, hopefully sooner than later. The free wifi is key if you’re reading.
