15 Alexander Automotive Car Dealerships Sold

Car Dealerships in Cool Springs Sold

Alexander Automotive Group sold 15 of their auto dealerships including those in Cool Springs, to Terry Taylor’s West Palm Beach based Automotive Management Services, Inc.

The sale price is rumored to be in the $150 million range, although it was not disclosed.

CoolSprings.com originally broke news of the impending sale over a month ago, but the article was removed at the request of an involved party.

CoolSprings.com also broke the story in May 2009 about Alexander Automotive Group purchasing the Cool Springs Nissan, Infiniti, Mazda and Hyundai locations.

The fifteen car dealerships sold are located in Murfreesboro, Columbia, Cookeville and the Cool Springs Franklin area. The Alexander family will continue to own a car dealership in Dickson as well as several other used car dealerships in Middle Tennessee.

Alexander Automotive founder R.C. Alexander passed away recently while having surgery in December, during recovery from a horseback riding accident that occurred in early 2010.

R.C. Alexander and Alexander Automotive Group long enjoyed a large presence in Williamson County and Middle Tennessee. R.C. started 50 years ago with a service station that he grew into an empire that employed nearly a 1,000 people at dozens of Alexander Automotive car dealerships across Middle Tennessee.

Terry Taylor & Automotive Management Services, Inc.

Downtown Nashville Nissan at 25 Vantage Way in Metrocenter is already owned by Automotive Management Services, Inc., headed by Terry Taylor. Automotive Management Services, Inc. owns and operates car dealerships throughout the South. Many of their automotive dealerships are in Florida, where Terry Taylor currently resides. Nissan and Hyundai brands make up a number of the auto dealerships it appears that AMSI owns, before the potential acquisition 15 car dealerships owned by the Alexander Automotive Group. This purchase represents a significant increase in the number of car dealerships owned in Middle Tennessee by Terry Taylor’s Automotive Management Services, Inc.

The family owned local Alexander Automotive has just bought through auction, several car dealerships including the real estate located in Cool Springs TN.

The dealerships purchased include Cool Springs Nissan, Cool Springs Infiniti and Cool Springs Mazda.

I was contacted today by the bankruptcy trustee holding the real estate and car dealerships in receivership and notified with the following email:

“Dear Sir

We would like to thank you for participating in the bidding process for the Nashville automotive dealerships. The winning bidder was R. C. Alexander Auto Group.

If we can be of service in the future to you or someone that you know, please feel free to give us a call.

I forwarded this email to the Tennessean, so look for a story from them sometime soon. Alexander Automotive is also constructing the new Alexander Toyota at the corner of McEwen and Mallory Blvd in Cool Springs. Aside from Alexander Toyota representing a great brand, owning Cool Springs Nissan would seem fairly prestigous since Nissan is headqaurtered here in Franklin TN.

The Alexander Auto Group is really set to become to the dominant force in cars around Cool Springs, lets hope they deliver good service too.
