School placed on lock down after wanted man runs on campus

A Brentwood school was placed on lock down Thursday morning while police searched for a man who fled on foot.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Department said Matthew Stovall, 21, took off running during a traffic stop on Maryland Way and Granny White Pike.

He then ran on the campus of Brentwood Academy. The school was placed on lockdown while officers searched the area.

Stovall was found about an hour later in a barn near the school campus. He did not attempt to enter any of the school buildings.

Stovall was turned over to Williamson County Deputies and transported to the Williamson County Jail.
