Nordstrom, Inc., a popular retailer based in Seattle has announced plans today they are opening a Nordstrom Rack in Brentwood Place shopping center located on Franklin Road.
The new store will be approximately 36,000 square feet and is anticipated to be opening Fall 2014. Nordstrom Rack is the off-price discount arm of Nordstrom, Inc. The stores typically range between 30,000 – 40,000 square feet, prefer to locate in community retail centers or enclosed regional malls and enjoy fashion oriented or discount co-tenants. Nordstrom Rack was long rumored to be considering several retail centers in Franklin around the Cool Springs Galleria.
“Since opening our full-line store at The Mall at Green Hills, our customers in this community have embraced us,” said Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack.
“We’re thrilled that an opportunity became available to bring a Rack store to the greater Nashville area and give our customers an additional way to shop with us,” Thomas said. “We can’t wait to open our doors next fall.”
Brentwood Place is a 315,790 square foot retail center whose current tenants include anchored by Kroger, T.J. Maxx and Office Depot, Five Guys Burgers and Uncle Classic Barbershop.
“We are delighted Nordstrom Rack chose Brentwood Place for their first store in Tennessee,” said Carl Storey, principal in Baker Storey McDonald Properties. “They are joining an outstanding group of retail merchants in one of the premier shopping destinations in the greater Nashville area.”
