Loveless Cafe Following Puckett’s Grocery DT Nashville

We are 99% certain the Loveless Cafe will be opening in downtown Nashville on the bottom floor of the Pinnacle building.

There have been rumblings for some time, however based on recent conversations with players involved downtown, it sounds like a done deal.

Though unconfirmed with the Loveless Cafe or Tom Morales, several credible sources downtown have said the Nashville Loveless Cafe deal is close to being announced.

Today’s article in the Nashville Post by J.R. Lind all but confirmed the news.

“Richard Fleming, a real estate agent with Cushman & Wakefield Cornerstone and also the leasing agent for the Pinnacle building told Lind “It will be a very well-received restaurant,” and that “It will be a Nashville icon”.”

We think the Loveless Cafe is already a Nashville icon.

Puckett’s Grocery and Restaurant recently made the jump downtown, opening soon at the corner of 5th and Church.  The new location is appropriately named “Puckett’s 5th and Church” and located at 500 Church St, Nashville TN 37219.  The grand opening is November 5-6, 2010.  Puckett’s Grocery in downtown Nashville will be 0pen for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with live music Friday and Saturday nights.  20% of the grand opening weekend’s proceeds will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank.

Downtown Nashville is undergoing somewhat of a renaissance with additions including the currently under construction Music City Convention Center, new retailers and restaurants such as Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville.  The Loveless Cafe expansion makes sense.

Downtown renaissance aside, the move is smart for practical reasons.  Tourists visiting for just a weekend are likely staying downtown and may not be able to make the 30 minute trek out to Loveless on Hwy 100.  Capitalizing on the massive volume of pedestrian tourism in downtown Nashville on a weekly basis is a no brainer.

For those reasons, there is a strong chance the Loveless Cafe in downtown Nashville could sell more t-shirts than biscuits.

Cross your fingers the new location will help to reduce the sometimes hour or two wait for breakfast on weekends at the original Loveless Cafe on Hwy 100 for us locals!

That’s great news for locals, too! Gotta love those biscuits and home made preserves. 🙂

Debbi,It really is better news for locals than anyone else. A Loveless Cafe downtown for tourists means WE (locals) might get OUR Loveless back…lol. I love eating out there and even the drive is relaxing, but waiting an hour or two for a table is not my idea of a perfect Saturday or Sunday. If only the Pancake Pantry could open a location DT as a decoy for tourists.
