First video gaming convention in Tennessee to take place this weekend in Cool Springs!
“ScoreCon 1″ to deliver tournaments, contests, speakers, live music, and more
FRANKLIN, TN – The Score, a Franklin-based video game startup company, will host its own all-day video game convention on Saturday, April 9, 2011. The convention will take place at Sodium, a 20,000 square foot facility devoted to recreation and entertainment. Tickets are available in advance for $15 at The Score of Cool Springs (through Friday) or for $20 at the door. Sodium is located at 1725 Columbia Avenue in Franklin TN, 37064.
ScoreCon 1 will feature a capacity of 500 attendees and will focus on video game lore, video game development, and large tournaments. A 4 on 4 Halo Reach tournament, Pokemon Black/White tournament, and retro-game-oriented “Video Game Olympics” event will complement speakers and panels devoted to software development, website development, and understanding video game retail. Additionally, DJ G6 will spin video game themed tracks as night begins to fall, and the convention will culminate in two live performances from regional pop/rock bands Details Details and heyhihello. Jet’s Pizza will provide food and Sodium will provide coffee and other beverages and desserts for guests.
Over $1,000 in prizes will be given away as part of the day’s tournaments and contests.
